Why artificial grass beats organic grass for rooftops.

Rooftop Greenery

Green roofs have had an impact in cities across the world. Green roofs supply shade, remove heat from the air, and reduce the roof surface and the air temperatures surrounding it. These rooftops are a wonderful way to add to square footage and support mental health by adding a green outdoor escape in the concrete jungle. By choosing synthetic, you can open up the possibilities for making a creative space in an otherwise drab spot.

Advantages of Artificial Grass Rooftops

Installing artificial turf on a rooftop has numerous benefits. Here are a few of our personal favorites:

Easy to Clean

Artificial grass is extremely easy to keep clean and maintained.

Light

In comparison to traditional grass, there is no risk of safety issues or hazards, such as root and water damage.

Delivers Insulation

Protects building interiors against intense heat and may offer resistance to mildew, decomposition, or mold.

Less Maintenance

Artificial turf will last for the long haul and requires very little upkeep if installed properly.

Adds Value

Creates a quick getaway while in the midst of the concrete jungle.

Safe Space for Pets and Kids

With synthetic turf, your pets and children won’t be exposed to toxic fertilizers, pesticides, and weedkillers.

Create A Unique Look

Artificial turf makes it convenient to place turf where organic grass wouldn’t grow, and you can make unique figures, or even put them on walls if you wish.

Which Fiber Type Should You Go For?

There are numerous factors to think about when selecting artificial turf, not to mention what would be look good on a rooftop. Here are a few crucial elements to consider when shopping:

Nylon is a long-lasting fabric, but outdoor areas are susceptible to expansion/contraction and more likely to fade.

For indoor areas, we recommend nylon or cases with high commercial wear or non-fill areas. All nylon non-infill Shaw products observe extensive flammability testing to conform to building codes.

For a rooftop commercial area, we recommend an infill PE tape product.

PE tape provides durability without sacrificing performance; high-quality PE resins are resistant to fading and not susceptible to contraction and expansion. Our Play-Safe collection provides exceptional results for this application.
